1 About This Policy
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store and send back with later requests. Similar technologies include the session and local storage built into your browser. Lex Etheris (accessible at lexetheris.com.au) is a service operated by Lex Stratus Software Pty Ltd (ACN 633 861 275). In this Cookie Policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Lex Stratus Software Pty Ltd trading as Lex Etheris.
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies we use on lexetheris.com.au, which we deliberately do not use, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
2 Cookies We Set
We set one cookie: a strictly necessary sign-in cookie holding your refresh token, the credential that keeps you signed in between requests. It is set when you sign in and is marked same-site "Strict", which means your browser sends it only with requests that originate from our own site and never with requests that other websites make to us.
This cookie exists solely to maintain your signed-in session. Because it is strictly necessary to provide the service you have asked for, no consent banner is required for it — which is why you do not see one on this site.
We set no preference, statistics or marketing cookies.
3 Browser Storage We Use
In addition to that cookie, the application uses your browser's session and local storage to hold your sign-in token for the current session and your interface preferences, so that the application behaves the way you left it.
This data stays in your browser. The sign-in token is sent to us only to authenticate the requests you make; interface preferences are not sent to us at all. Both are removed when you sign out or clear your browser's site data.
4 What We Do Not Use
We do not use:
- third-party analytics cookies;
- advertising cookies;
- social-media cookies; or
- tracking pixels or web beacons.
Email open and click tracking is disabled on our email identities, so the emails we send do not report back whether or when you opened them. We do not use cookies or browser storage to profile you or to follow you across other websites.
5 Third-Party Requests
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. That is an ordinary network request — your browser fetches the font file from Google's servers, and the request necessarily carries your IP address — but it is not a cookie, and we receive nothing from it.
Where you use an embedded third-party service — for example, paying by card through Stripe's checkout — that provider may set its own cookies on its own domains, under its own privacy and cookie policies. Those cookies are not ours, and this policy does not cover them.
6 Managing Cookies
Your browser's settings let you view, block and delete cookies, and clear session and local storage, for any site including ours.
Because the only cookie we set is the essential sign-in cookie, the trade-off is simple: blocking or deleting it prevents you from signing in or staying signed in, and clearing your browser's site data signs you out. The public pages of this site work without any cookie at all.
7 Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Cookie Policy from time to time by updating this page, and we will update the version number and the dates shown at the top when we do. If we ever begin using a new category of cookie or similar technology, we will describe it here before we rely on it. We suggest you review this policy periodically.
8 Contact
If you have questions about this Cookie Policy, please email support@lexstratus.com.au.
For questions or complaints about how we handle personal information, including information collected through the technologies this policy describes, please contact our Privacy Officer as set out in the Privacy Policy.
